I am a lecturer in the School of Computer Science and Informatics, and a member of the Visual Computing Research Group. I work on 3D geometry processing and its application, such as freeform architectural design, digital fabrication, and human face modelling. I also work on numerical algorithms, especially on large-scale optimisation for geometry processing and physical simulation. My research interests are primarily focused on the analysis and processing of 3D geometry, with applications in computational design, digital fabrication, and computer vision.
Previously, I worked as a lecturer in computer science at the University of Hull between 2015 and 2017. From 2012 to 2015, I was a postdoctoral researcher in the Computer Graphics and Geometry Laboratory at EPFL, working with Mark Pauly. I obtained my PhD in Technical Mathematics from Vienna University of Technology in 2011, under the supervision of Helmut Pottmann. I received my master degree in Computer Science and bachelor degree in Computer Software in 2008 and 2005 respectively, both from Tsinghua University.
In summer 2018, I was a visiting professor at the University of Science and Technology of China, hosted by the Graphics & Geometric Computing Laboratory.
