Prof. Caswell Barry

Scientific Committee

Caswell Barry is a neuroscientist based at UCL. His goal is to build a computational understanding of the brain with his main focus being on the neural basis of memory. In other words, explaining how a network of neurons stores, updates, and retrieves information about the world and events that happen within it. To this end he studies spatial memory and its representation in the hippocampal formation. His lab uses a mixture of experimental tools to record and manipulate brain activity (e.g. two photon imaging, electrophysiology, optogenetics) as well as theoretical and computational approaches to provide models and normative theories of brain function (e.g. AI, computational models).
